After the successful sale of the family brand Kiehl's in 2001, both of them decided to focus on other areas. Skin care was a hobby for them during this period, and it wasn't long before they contacted a friend who was a laboratory technician to help them develop the ultimate skin care products for their personal use. And 'ultimate' meant that costs were no object; only the best ingredients and the most modern production techniques were good enough for this line, which they originally hadn't intended to release commercially. But finally, Klaus convinced Jami to market the products on a very small scale. Retrouvé sums up more than thirty years of experience, research, and collaboration.
