Parfum 3:
Key Ingredients
Thank you for participating in the Parfum 3: Key Ingredients masterclass. Together with our Skins Experts, you immersed yourself in the world of perfume and covered fifteen extraordinary fragrances. In this masterclass, we discussed and learned how to analyse perfumes, experience exceptional notes and recognise unique ingredients.
Fragrances are divided into olfactory families. A fragrance family is a group of fragrances categorised together because of their similarities and complementary differences. There are four leading olfactory families with one noticeable scent, and within them, a series of olfactory families in which that prominent scent blends with other scents. The scent wheel below shows which families there are and how they are structured.
Floral
Flowers add a soft, delicate touch to a perfume. Each flower has its character. The rose is romantic, the tuberose sensual, and the flowers of violets provide a powdery experience. During the masterclass, we discovered the following fragrances in this family.
Spices
Spicy ingredients give a perfume an extra dimension and provide a unique signature. Think of a spicy fragrance note at the top that immediately stands out or an ingredient in the heart or base that gives a warm, rich fragrance experience. Which of the three fragrances from this family is your favourite?
Special Ingredients
Coffee, tonka bean, tobacco or spirits: all give an unexpected twist to the fragrance composition. Be surprised during the masterclass and discover the power of these unique ingredients. Check out the fragrances with special ingredients discussed in this masterclass.
Molecular
Molecular fragrances come to life when applied to the skin. Molecules, such as ambroxan or Iso-E-Super, develop differently on each skin. Molecular perfumes are often sensual, extremely seductive and provide a unique, personal signature.
Fruity
Fruit has a stimulating effect and provides a cheerful note in every perfume. Whether it concerns ingredients with an energetic character, such as grapefruit and yuzu, or exotic fruits with a sweeter scent experience: every fruit has a unique scent. Check out the fruity scents we discussed in this masterclass.
