Privacy statement Skins

This is the privacy statement of Skins Cosmetics B.V., hereinafter referred to as Skins. This privacy statement provides information on how we process personal data of our customers and users on our website. The careful and secure processing of personal data is important to us.

This Privacy Statement applies to all processing of personal data by Skins with registered office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 34126773. This Privacy Statement explains how Skins processes personal data, for which purposes and on which basis. We explain whether - and if so, to whom - personal data are provided, how these data are secured and what retention periods we apply. Finally, you will read how you can exercise your rights, such as the right to inspection.

1. Introduction

1.1 Personal data

As described above, this privacy statement explains how we process your personal data. But what exactly do we mean by personal data? That is all data that can be traced back to you as a person and by which you can be identified. For example, your name, address, telephone number or customer number.

1.2 Younger than eighteen years

We do not intend to collect data from children. The use of our services by customers under the age of eighteen is therefore only permitted with the express consent of a parent or guardian.

2. What personal data do we use for our services?

We process personal data for various purposes, such as order processing and delivery, personalisation and improving and securing our services. We delete personal data as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

In some cases, processing personal data is necessary. Think for example of address data for the delivery of an order, or your name and contact details when handling an enquiry or complaint. When processing is not necessary - such as when sending a newsletter - we only do so with your permission. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

2.1 Visiting the website

2.1.1 Registration with Skins online

When you place an online order, we need your name and address, telephone number, e-mail address, bank and payment details to process your order and keep you informed of its progress. Optionally, you can share your date of birth with us. You can create a one-time account with Skins, so you don't have to re-enter this data with every order. After a reminder, we will delete your Skins account details after five years of inactivity.

With a Skins account you can also post reviews of products you have purchased. You choose whether to use your real name or a nickname.

2.1.2 Newsletter

When you subscribe to our weekly newsletter, we use your e-mail address to inform you about new items in our collection, developments within our services and special events. No longer interested? Then you can easily unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of each newsletter or via your personal Skins account.

2.1.3 Loyalty programme Skins Inclusive

If you sign up for Skins' loyalty programme, Skins Inclusive, we will use your name and email address to inform you about the programme, your loyalty level and personal rewards. In addition, you can save your favourite boutique and keep an address book and wish list. You can separately subscribe to the Skins Inclusive newsletter, through which we keep you informed about monthly updates, rewards and developments within the programme. After two years of inactivity, we delete this data.

2.2 Customer service

When you contact our customer service, we process the data necessary to handle your query or complaint. This includes your name, e-mail address, telephone number and the content of your message. We do not retain this data for longer than two years after the last contact about the message concerned.

3. Data sharing with third parties

We may share your personal data with our processors: parties we engage to perform certain tasks related to the processing of personal data, such as the delivery of your order. When personal data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that this is done in accordance with applicable law, for example by using the model contractual clauses established by the EU.

Through our website, you may also be directed to websites of third parties, such as suppliers. Skins is not responsible for the processing of personal data on these external websites. The use of these websites is subject to the privacy statement of the relevant party. For more information on how they handle personal data, please refer to the privacy statement on their own website.

4. Cookies

Skins uses different types of cookies and similar technologies on our website. More information on this can be found in our cookie policy.

5. How do we secure your data?

Skins takes the required measures to secure your personal data. Technically, we ensure that our systems are up-to-date and properly secured. We use secure certificates to encrypt the data traffic between your device and Skins. Payments are made securely via Multisafepay.

Should there be a security incident, such as a data leak, despite these measures, we will act in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. Do you think there might be a security incident? If so, please report it as soon as possible via webshop@skins.nl.

6. Rights

It is important to us that you can easily exercise your rights under the AVG. You have the right to inspect and correct your personal data. Via your account, you can view and amend your data yourself at any time.

You also have the right to data portability. This means that you can receive the data you provided to us in the context of the agreement(s) with Skins in a machine-readable format. In your account, you can download, among other things, your name, address and residence details and your order history.

You also have the right to have your personal data deleted and the right to restrict Skins' processing of your personal data. To do so, you can submit a request via webshop@skins.nl.
