What should you consider when choosing your lipstick?
The undertone of your skin
The undertone is crucial in choosing the right lipstick colour. There are three different undertones: warm, cool, or neutral. With a warm undertone, opt for a lipstick in warm shades such as red, brown, coral, peach, or light pink. Bright red, purple, and plum are the best fits for a cool undertone. With a neutral undertone, you can indulge in any lipstick colour.
Want to find out which undertone you have? Hold a white piece of paper beside your face while looking in the mirror. If your skin shows pink or blue hues, you have a cool skin undertone. When your skin next to the white paper appears more yellow, peach-coloured, or beig e, this indicates a warm undertone. A neutral undertone is identified by the absence of yellow and pink hues in your skin colour.
Your skin colour
Although you are free to wear any colour, some colours are particularly flattering for your skin tone. Light skin types glow in pink, peach, soft red, and nude shades. Medium to tanned skin types look beautiful with copper, fuchsia, or coral, while dark skin tones sparkle in aubergine, dark red, or brown lipsticks.
Your hair colour
Your hair colour can also be a good guide. Nude, light pink and brown shades look stunning on blondes. Consider dark red, pink-beige, or dark pink colours if you have brown hair. For black hair, burgundy, brown shades, fuchsia, and raspberry red are recommended. And redheads? They delight in copper and bronze shades, but orange or red with a brown hue are perfect, too.
