Zorg dat het wasbad vrij is van lucifers en vuil. Gebruik de kaars niet als het resterende niveau van was in het glas minder dan 5 mm is. Laat een brandende kaars nooit onbeheerd achter. Houd weg van kinderen, gordijnen en huisdieren. Verplaats geen brandende kaars of wanneer de was nog heet is; wacht tot de was stolt. Plaats de kaars niet op warmtegevoelige oppervlakken, in de buurt van ontvlambare materialen, een open raam of nabij andere kaarsen.

Laat de geurkaars altijd branden tot de hele oppervlakte vloeibaar is. Na het uitblazen van de lont centreer je deze. Voor de lont weer wordt aangestoken knip je deze kort met een lont trimmer. Door consequent op deze manier de geurkaars te laten branden zal de kaars langzamer branden en gaat deze volledig op.
Let op: zet de kaars niet op de tocht of direct op een glazen of marmeren oppervlak. Laat de kaars nooit onbeheerd en beweeg of kantel hem ook niet. Houd buiten bereik van kinderen.
