Experience Scents
Thank you for participating in the Parfum 2: Experience Scents masterclass. Together with our Skins Experts, you have dived into the world of perfume, learned more about the different layers in perfume through scent notes, and learned to recognise unique ingredients. With fifteen extraordinary perfumes, you experienced different scents on the blotter and skin.
Fragrances are divided into scent families. A scent family is a group of fragrances categorised together because of their similarities and complementary differences. There are four leading olfactory families with one noticeable scent, and within them, a series of olfactory families in which that prominent scent blends with other scents. The scent wheel below shows which families there are and how they are structured.
Green
This fragrance family takes you outside and lets you experience the beautiful scents that nature has to offer. Green notes give a perfume a fresh and earthy character. Green ingredients include oak moss, freshly cut grass and spicy galbanum. As a second fragrance we have experience Le Labo – Mousse de Chene 30. This perfume is exclusively available in our boutiques.
Musk
Discover the different sides of musk, including clean and animal-like. Clean musk is a soft, powdery scent which reminds you of freshly laundered sheets. Animal-like musk scents are sensual, skin-like and extremely seductive. Check out the musky scents we discussed in this masterclass
Woody
Get to know the varied and characteristic fragrances of the woody family. This fragrance family has something interesting for everyone. The many types of wood each have their character. Are you going for creamy sandalwood, dry cedarwood or smoky Palo Santo? During the masterclass, we discovered the following scents in the woody family.
Gourmande
Gourmande fragrances make your mouth water. Think sweet notes like caramel, vanilla, chocolate and candyfloss. These delicious edible ingredients give every fragrance a sultry twist. Which of the three perfumes in this family is your favourite?
Oud
Smoky, balsamic and dark: that is oud. This precious ingredient gives fragrance creations a mystical touch. In this family, you will discover fragrances with an animalistic, warm and complex signature. Be amazed by the rich character of oud.
