    The name of perfume house What We Do Is Secret is inspired by a statement from perfumer Jacques Cavallier about secrecy as the core of his craft. The perfume house began as an art studio in 2005, grew into a fragrance blog and eventually became the brand as it exists today. Ever since, everything at What We Do Is Secret has revolved around what remains unsaid. No lengthy fragrance pyramid full of explanation, but a scent you experience rather than describe. A secret you would rather wear than reveal.

    Monoscent G is the most literal example of what What We Do Is Secret stands for. The scent consists of a single molecule: Galaxolide S. Not a composition of dozens of ingredients, but one musk note in its purest form. A 1986 fragrance study, involving over 1.5 million participants, found that some people barely detect this specific musk.
