The story of MEZEL and its founder, Sophia Gyé Jacquot

MEZEL was founded by the Franco-Moroccan Sophia Gyé Jacquot. Having worked for perfume houses in Paris and London, she witnessed both traditions at first hand. She noticed how they were often used merely to create an atmosphere, with no regard for the origin of the raw ingredients or the craftsmanship behind them. This realisation led her to launch her own brand, with the aim of restoring authenticity to raw materials, craftsmanship and the stories behind them.

The bottle: a tribute to Moroccan heritage

The shape of the MEZEL bottle is inspired by the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, built under King Hassan II and designed by a French architect. A structure that stands as a symbol of unity and craftsmanship, and is open to everyone, regardless of background, religion or gender. The label is finished with gold threads, which highlight both the connection between two cultures and the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

Discover Cuir de Pastèque by MEZEL

MEZEL’s Cuir de Pastèque fragrance translates the freshness of watermelon into a surprising leathery note. The fruit’s rind takes on the texture of vegan leather. This Parisian boldness is complemented by the addition of iris, a cornerstone of French perfumery, sourced from the Ourika Valley in Morocco.
