At Skins, we proudly present Trudon: the oldest candle house in the world, founded in 1643 and still active today. Already during the reign of Louis XIV, Trudon was court supplier, later also for Napoléon Bonaparte. Today, each candle is still handmade in Normandy, bringing together age-old traditions and modern craftsmanship.

Trudon: heritage and craftsmanship in fragrance

Trudon's history began with Claude Trudon, who opened a shop in Paris selling wax and candles. In 1719, Trudon was awarded "Royal Manufacture" and the brand has been closely linked to French history ever since. The candles are famous for their perfect waxes, elegant wicks and sophisticated scent creations, developed by renowned perfumers. Each scent tells a story, inspired by art, culture and historical figures.

The making process: Trudon's know-how and tradition

Trudon is distinguished by its artisanal production process. In its workshop in Normandy, the glass containers are prepared by hand, the wick carefully placed and the wax mixed with fragrance and then poured. During solidification, the wick is carefully corrected, after which the candle is finished and stamped with the iconic Trudon emblem. This is how the house guarantees the quality and elegance it has been known for for centuries.

One of the most loved creations and Trudon classic is Bougie Ernesto: a powerful scented candle that combines the warmth of leather and tobacco with spicy and woody accents. Inspired by Havana, the fragrance evokes images of panelling, cigar smoke and the atmosphere of revolution. Top notes of bergamot, grapefruit and rum open fresh and sparkling, then oak, clove and patchouli bring depth. The base of tobacco, amber and leather gives Ernesto its distinctive, characterful signature.
