The Skin Reset
We’ve got our favourite face cream, we know which serum suits our skin, and we love trying something new. But when was the last time we really paid attention to our scalp? Or our feet?
Now that the heating’s coming on a bit more often, our skin could do with some extra TLC. A skin reset gives it a fresh start, so your skincare routine can work to its full potential. Discover seven favourites for a reset from head to toe.
We’re happy to invest in good hair care, but we sometimes forget about our scalp. Yet it deserves just as much attention. With Ceremonia’s Scalp Masajeador, you can massage your scalp in small circles to remove dead skin cells. Next, apply the Aceite de Moska, a light oil containing aloe vera and babassu oil that nourishes your scalp and adds shine to your hair.
You may have heard of dry brushing, but perhaps haven’t added it to your routine yet. The Ultimate Dry Brush by goop is a great place to start. The firm sisal bristles remove dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling smooth. Use the brush before showering on dry skin, using long strokes from your feet towards your heart.
There’s little to beat a warm bath after a long day. Especially when you take a little extra time for it. Bodyologist’s Calming Crystals are made from French Mediterranean salt, enriched with magnesium to soothe your skin. Sprinkle a handful into the bath and enjoy the warmth. No bath? The crystals also work wonders in a foot bath.
Diptyque’s Massage Tool soothes both skin and mind. The gua sha is made from glazed porcelain and its shape follows the contours of your body. Use it with gentle movements, perhaps in combination with your favourite body oil.
A body oil is the sort of product you might not use every day, but it can be just the thing when your skin needs a bit of extra care. Maiwe’s Botanical Body Oil Unscented has a light formula and combines grape seed and jojoba oils that absorb easily. Apply the oil to your skin whilst it’s still damp after a shower. It’s also lovely when used with Diptyque’s Massage Tool.
We look after our hands every day, but our feet rarely get the same attention. That’s a shame, because a good foot cream is a simple addition to your evening routine. Santa Maria Novella’s Foot Cream nourishes the skin, whilst mint and camphor provide an invigorating sensation. Particularly lovely after a warm foot bath.
For the final step of your reset, use MANTLE’s The Dream Mask. Apply this gel mask, containing hyaluronic acid and sea buckthorn, before you go to sleep. Whilst you rest, your skin is moisturised and nourished. This means you’ll wake up the next morning with skin that feels soft to the touch.
