How to
Als je de kaars voor het eerst aansteekt, laat de kaars dan 2 à 3 uur branden, totdat alle was aan de oppervlakte vloeibaar is geworden. Zo voorkom je dat de was later gaat uithollen of een gat rond de lont vormt.
Laat een brandende kaars nooit onbeheerd achter en laat hem nooit langer dan vier uur achter elkaar branden. Verplaats je kaars niet als deze brandt of als de was nog vloeibaar is.
Zorg ervoor dat je de lont na elk gebruik in de was centreert voor een gelijkmatig verbruik van de was. Dit zorgt er ook voor dat het glas niet oververhit raakt. De lont en de vlam mogen het glas niet raken.
Knip ten slotte de lont regelmatig bij met de lontsnijder (ideale lengte 3-5 mm) om te voorkomen dat de kaars rook afgeeft en de lont in de was valt, waardoor de kaars onbruikbaar wordt.
Zet een brandende kaars nooit op de tocht of in direct contact met een kostbaar oppervlak. De kaars moet op een vlakke, hittebestendige ondergrond worden geplaatst.
Om de kaars te doven, is het aanbevolen een deksel te gebruiken om rook en eventuele spatten van vloeibare was te vermijden. Een kaars is uitgebrand en mag niet opnieuw worden aangestoken als er nog maar 5 mm was over is of als de metalen lont zichtbaar wordt.
Houd de kaars buiten het bereik van kinderen en huisdieren.
