Your face gets a serum, a mask, a bespoke routine. Your body often gets nothing more than a quick slather of lotion – even after a summer full of sun and salt water. Joonbyrd emphasises that your skin doesn’t stop at your chin and applies the same care you give your face to the rest of your body.
The brand was founded in 2024 by Dr Alexis Granite, a dermatologist with nearly twenty years’ experience in New York and London. The name pays tribute to her Persian grandmother: in Farsi, ‘joon’ means both ‘dear’ and ‘soul’, a word she used for those who were dear to her. That personal history forms the basis of a brand that combines clinical efficacy with a sensory, colourful experience.
The collection follows four steps: cleansing, exfoliating, treating and moisturising. Each formula is based on the brand’s proprietary ALXmd04 technology, a combination of active ingredients, plant-based biopeptides and adaptogens. This summer, Joonbyrd is launching two new products with a scent of peach, banana, cocoa and tonka bean: a body glaze and a Body Wash, both designed to support skin that has been challenged by the sun and heat.
