For powder products: Press or swirl the bristles into pressed powder, or dip them into loose powder to pick up the product. Then press the brush against the back of your hand to work the powder into the bristles. This ensures the powder is applied evenly and minimises fallout. Gently tap the brush once or twice against the back of your hand to shake off any excess product. For brushes with a flat head: apply using a pressing motion and smooth over to blend. For brushes with a round head: apply using a sweeping motion and swirl to blend.
Spray a small amount of product onto the back of your hand and pick up some product with the brush. Then press the brush onto the back of your hand to work the cream into the bristles. This ensures the product is applied evenly. Gently tap the back of your hand once to remove any excess product. For brushes with a flat head: apply using a pressing motion and smooth over to blend. For brushes with a round head: apply using a sweeping motion; with larger brushes, dab to blend; with small brushes, swirl to blend.
Pro tips
For powder products, use a lighter grip. Let the brush feel the contours of the skin itself. For cream or liquid products, hold the brush as normal and guide it to the desired area. Try applying the product very thinly at first and then build it up.
Brush care
If necessary, clean with a mild Shampoo and warm water. To protect the bristles of your brush, clean using a sweeping motion in the direction of the bristles. Rinse thoroughly. Gently squeeze out the water through the bristles, from the base to the tips. Repeat if necessary. Restore the brush bristles to their original shape. Leave to air-dry on a flat surface. Do not stand brushes upright to dry. When travelling, carry brushes separately from other make-up to prevent the bristles from bending and fraying.
