Monsieur, a neo-classical fragrance, a far cry from fleeting fads. For this first fragrance under his own name, perfumer Bruno Jovanovic selected a symbol from classical perfumery: patchouli. The perfumer sought to keep this ingredient as pure as possible, to the point of extremity, to make it the key link in the chain of evaporation: the mandarin notes in the opening bring a certain freshness. These top notes blend with the enigmatic, syrupy character of rum absolute, intertwined with the sea of patchouli at the heart of the fragrance. A substantial amount of cedar and frankincense lend a sensual and mystical vibe, whilst a hint of modern amber adds a dark edge. Hints of vanilla and musk bind all the notes together and soften the sharpness, transforming this brute into a sensual, magnetic and somewhat civilised beast. No one has dared to use patchouli in this pure form since the 1970s.
