Bal d'Afrique is a fascinating creation that takes you to the vibrant heart of Africa. The inspiration for Byredo's iconic fragrance Bal d'Afrique comes from founder Ben Gorham's father, who travelled around Africa for 10 to 15 years. Ben read his diaries and translated his father's experiences into a vibrant, creative and bohemian fragrance as a beautiful fusion of African culture and 1920s Parisian sophistication.
The perfume opens with the sweet and spicy aroma of bergamot, lemon, neroli and African marigold, creating a burst of fresh energy that awakens the senses. Heart notes of violet, jasmine and cyclamen add a floral and powdery touch, while the rich and earthy base notes of black amber, musk, vetiver and Moroccan cedarwood give a sensual and warm finish that lingers on your skin for hours. The balanced blend of fresh, floral and woody notes makes it a perfect fragrance for any occasion and season.

With eau de parfum, extrait de parfum and perfume, perfume is only worn on the skin, because oils need skin to retain fragrance. Cologne and Eau de toilette can be sprayed on clothing. Note: If the perfume has a strong colour concentration, do not mist on light clothing.
