Buste Napoléon Stone
Buste Napoléon Stone by Trudon is a bust that refers to the period when Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) recognised the importance of his portrait to the French public. The Consulate era thus built its own legend, using a variety of mediums, from sculptures to snuff boxes and fans. During the Restoration, Bonapartists continued to distribute such objects, and after his death in 1821, the distribution of representations of his most important deeds increased again. In the Second Empire (1852), the imperial legend became official with commissions for sculptures in squares and paintings in museums.
